Tour RIT's Photographic Sciences Program
On Thursday, April 18, join us at noon for an open house to explore RIT’s one-of-a-kind photographic sciences program, which offers courses in areas such as high-speed photography, microscopy, ophthalmic imaging and image analysis.Whether it’s photography for the sciences, or the science of photography, students learn to solve photographic and imaging problems across healthcare, commercial imaging, automotive imaging and scientific research. Students, faculty, staff and the public are welcome to come learn more about the program and tour our specialized labs. The open house will kick off from the Ron Francis Lab (Gannett Hall, Room 2182) at noon. Please RSVP to Christye Sisson at cpspph@rit.edu.This is an event sponsored by The Science Alliance at RIT's College of Art and Design, a newly formed group of the science programs within the college. The BS programs and research entities, including motion picture science, photographic sciences and the Image Permanence Institute, share a common mission as the sciences for the arts. And the college’s medical illustration BFA program and the biomedical photographic communications option provide visual imagery in support of the sciences and allied health. All of these programs engage in the science for the arts, and art for the sciences to advance communication, promote innovation and engineer potential solutions.Photo by Nasser Albahri, who captured a bullet slicing through an eggplant for an assignment done in RIT's High-speed Photography class.
