Revisiting the Attica Uprising
Rochester's own Chris Christopher and Dave Marshall, the multiple Emmy Award-winning filmmaking team, reveal the story of what really happened during the 1971 Attica prison riot.The hour-long documentary will be followed by a panel discussion. State Museum officials will also discuss a forthcoming project on the Attica uprising that the state is preparing. Panelists include: Christine ChristopherMs. Christopher, the local filmmaker whose documentary on Attica focuses on the political pressures of the era and the likely spark for the violent retaking. Dee Quinn MillerMs. Miller’s father was a corrections officer killed during the uprising.
