National Suicide Prevention Week - Honor Beads

Connection is Prevention

Suicide prevention and mental health are hot topics on campuses across the US today, and always. RIT is no different. Please join the campus in supporting our third annual National Suicide Prevention Week. This year’s theme is Connection is Prevention.

Effective suicide prevention is layered and requires connection with self, each other, resources, and community. We can all play a role through the power of connection by having real conversations about mental health, sitting with someone new at lunch, reminding someone that they’re great or letting someone know about resources within our community – it only takes one moment to make a connection.

Honor Beads:  A program adapted from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Remembrance Beads will be available for you to wear - each color represents one’s personal connection to the cause and help others identify others who understand.
