Publishing Success: Pitching Your Book Proposal to Editors

Cecil Foster, PhD, who has published widely and can speak to how important it is to form mentoring circles will be visiting RIT on September 18, 2019. Dr. Foster is Professor of the Department of Transnational Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at University at Buffalo. Click this link to view his profile.

This presentation will be in two parts and registration is required for each:

Part 1: Open discussion with all faculty offering tips on some of the ways to make their book proposals to editors more attractive and more likely to ensure greater success in academic and general publishing. (10:45 am-12:15 pm with a light lunch following 12:15-1 pm).

Part 2: This second part will be in the form of individual mentoring, so that individual faculty members can discuss their plans and get immediate feedback. (2 pm-3 pm seating for the individual mentoring is very limited). Click here to register for Part 2. SEATING IS VERY LIMITED!

Combined, the two sections aim for personal outcomes for the individual faculty in ways that will embolden them to a) carefully develop book proposals; b) be mindful of some of the traps faculty can encounter; and c) to encourage faculty to become actively engaged in seeking publication for their work.
