ARTiculating Deaf Experiences conference
ARTiculating Deaf Experiences Conference, November 6-9, 2019, is an international RIT/NTID conference focusing on Deaf Experiences by examining historic documents, primary sources, and literary and artistic works. Scholars, students, Deaf Cultural Studies and Sign Language teachers, artists, playwrights, filmmakers, poets, writers, ARTivists and more will be convening to examine, exchange, and express works relating to Deaf experiences. NTID’s First and Second National ASL Literature Conferences were a big hit and people are constantly asking for more. 2019 marks the 30th Anniversary of Deaf View/Image Art (De'VIA) and the 10th Anniversary of Surdism so we have alot of celebrate and reflect on. ARTiculating Deaf Experiences Conference will feature a De’VIA exhibit in the Memorial Art Gallery, exhibits by Deaf artists in the Dyer Arts Center, Sign Language literature performances, a play production, keynotes, presentations, short panel talks, banquet and Deaf artists vendors and company exhibitors.
