Exhibition Opening: Controlled Trauma - Ten Years of Surgical Photography

Controlled Trauma is a group exhibition marking ten years of a specialized photography course offered to RIT students in partnership with Rochester Regional Health. With exclusive access to operating rooms at Rochester General Hospital, students capture details of complex and sensitive procedures, the surgeons and medical staff, and the operating room tools and equipment. The course provides invaluable experience to students in a highly specialized field blending photographic arts with medical science and technology. Their images are now archived as medical records and used for marketing and research purposes. This show provides viewers a glimpse into this one-of-a-kind class, thanks to the efforts of partnering organizations, faculty, staff and students who make it possible.
