He teaches courses in rhetorical theory and the critical study of public culture. His PhD is in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota. He is the author of Political Style: The Artistry of Power and two volumes co-authored with John Louis Lucaites: No Caption Needed: Iconic Photographs, Public Culture, and Liberal Democracy, and The Public Image: Photography and Civic Spectatorship.  His other publications include four edited volumes and numerous book chapters and journal articles in several disciplines.  His work has been translated into French and Chinese.  He posts on photojournalism, politics, society, and culture at his blog Nocaptionneeded.com. Interpreters provided upon request subject to availability.Please make your request TODAY by going to the following website  Access.rit.edu.
