Narrative in Medicine and Ethics
Scientific discourse is, by and large, descriptive and predictive. Stories are, too. But they are also determinative. They forge those descriptions that we make for ourselves, under which we perceive and act. They become the myths that we make, that govern our decisions. We need to take care of the kinds of stories we tell.
